The "villain" I wanted to win (Oikawa Toru) [REUPLOAD]
Oikawa's "Chance Ball" scene is one of Haikyuu's greatest, but it's just a small part of his incredible journey. As perhaps the most motivating character in the anime, his journey as an "Ordinary setter" to fight against Karasuno's Kageyama, and Aoba Johsai's Shiratorizawa is beyond inspiring.
From the first match of Aoba Johsai vs Karasuno, where his serves were near-unstoppable, we see Oikawa's drastic development before the season 2 rematch. He's a completely different player, with a whole new mindset that he picked up from his mentor Jose Blanco, he turns into an absolute monster.
He's completely overcome his past - which we see in the flashback he has to his middle school days, where h...

This training arc makes life feel okay again (Haikyuu)
Просмотров 37 тыс.21 час назад
Hinata's Brazil arc is without doubt my favourite training arc of all time. Haikyuu is packed to the brim with inspiring stories, and this arc is perhaps the most moving of all. From the end of Karasuno vs Kamomedai, where Takeda told him "This is still Volleyball", to his graduation and then moving to Brazil to practice beach volleyball, Hinata went on a crazy journey, which we'll discuss toda...
Young men's biggest mistake (Kenma Kozume)
Просмотров 40 тыс.14 дней назад
There's a LOT I wish I could tell my younger self. Kenma demonstrates a lot of that. Ever since he first met Hinata, he's shown to be the polar opposite of him: in comparison to the Greatest Decoy who zips around all over the place to create chances for his teammates, Nekoma's brain stands still, making use of the receives his team sends his way. Hinata would later declare that one day he would...
My honest thoughts on the Haikyuu Movie
Просмотров 37 тыс.28 дней назад
Haikyuu's showdown between Karasuno and Nekoma, "The Battle at the Garbage Dump" was recently released in theatres worldwide. It's received a brilliant amount of success, and I personally thoroughly enjoyed it. However as time went on, and I thought about it more and more... I couldn't help but feel frustrated. Sure, we got the boom jump and a whole bunch of other, super cool scenes, but SO muc...
Haikyuu's final movie now has a SERIOUS problem...
Просмотров 103 тыс.Месяц назад
Haikyuu: Battle at the Garbage Dump is finally out, and has received fantastic reception... however now there's a BIG problem. The first few seasons of Haikyuu, containing Karasuno's matches against Aoba Johsai, Shiratorizawa and Inarizaki, went through at a rate of 5-7 minutes per chapter. The Nekoma vs Karasuno game, was under 3 minutes per chapter. Ouch. The reviews of the film are still fan...
Using external motivation (Blue Lock)
Просмотров 32 тыс.Месяц назад
Blue Lock is a very unique anime, but above all it's extremely motivating: Isagi and other characters such as Barou and Chigiri provide a very unique, motivating view on the sport and the world. In episode 11, Isagi scores a "direct shot" (volley) to give team Z the win over team V, allowing them to survive and clear the first stage. But this isn't the route Isagi would ordinarily take, it's a ...
Anime's single most motivating line (Tanaka Ryūnosuke)
Просмотров 393 тыс.2 месяца назад
It's very common nowadays for people to use anime for motivation - listening to soundtracks in the gym, watching big scenes before a big moment IRL, or just rewatching THAT moment when we're at a low point. I could name countless motivational anime quotes or scenes, but of all of them, my favourite is undoubtedly "Tanaka's Greatest Moment" - his cross shot against Inarizaki to win the first set...
Anime's most inspiring philosophy (Shinsuke Kita)
Просмотров 180 тыс.2 месяца назад
There's plenty of "motivational" or "inspirational" anime characters out there. There's a few I would genuinely credit with changing my life. However many of those, had huge amounts of screentime - or at the very least a good few episodes. But Shinsuke Kita, has barely more than an episode. Of all of Haikyuu's quotes, perhaps my favourite is "You do it every day. You take care of your body. You...
Procrastinating? Johzenji WILL fix that...
Просмотров 69 тыс.2 месяца назад
No seriously, they will - and based on the views on the last video I spoke about this, it's something a lot of you guys struggled with too. Despite such low screentime, Johzenji had a HUGE impact on the story of Haikyuu: unlike Date Tech, Aoba Johsai or Nekoma, they're a VERY similar team to Karasuno. Using synchro and quick attack in the same fashion as Kageyama and Hinata. They have a very un...

Haikyuu's "Saddest" story is actually... beautiful.
Просмотров 122 тыс.3 месяца назад
Haikyuu's biggest strength is perhaps its character writing, the beautiful inspiring stories of Karasuno's members, and the other teams'. However, whilst it has some of the best characters I've seen in an anime, there was one I couldn't help but see as... sad for a long time. Sugawara is Karasuno's co-captain, however he's also the only third year not on the starting lineup. He occasionally get...

I don't think they'll cut Bokuto's match completely, because it's a very important moment that leads to the moral conclusion at the end of Nationals. So, I predict that the second movie will start with this game, but it will be very short on screen indeed.

I really hated Oikawa after he beat Hinata and Kageyama, I remember feeling a weight on my chest when they were down and the anger I felt. I prayed and waited for them to get their revenge and felt a wave of satisfaction and triumph when they did. But after the fact when we got to learn more about Oikawa I started to understand that even he suffered chasing for the top. He was a great antagonist, but could have even been the portagonist of his own anime and it'd have been amazing. Still kinda hate him for the first time he beat them tho😂

Finally, the movie got released here in my country this week and finally I can watch your video without getting spoiled ^^; _Although I did read the manga countless times and know the lines by heart..._ but I didn't know what would be covered. And all I now really want to say is, I hope they will make two more movies. How to split this up, I can't say. But only one would be really frustrating regardless of what they leave out. Every chapter adds something and will be sorely missed when left out.

Damn, hell of a great video! While I know most of us aren't volleyball players, nevertheless pro-athletes, this video is easily relatable to many who are trying to find their place in life. All the days of feeling lost and not knowing about the future, this is still part of Life. This is still a part getting to the future of where you want to be and what you want to do. Everything, no matter how happy or tragic, that you've experienced will be how you get to the future of your dreams. Thanks for the reminder. Came in a near perfect time in my life. Your videos are amazing, thank you for bringing hope and positivity to all of us!

IIRC after the first rallys the points were set to 7:7 or something. I felt a little disappointed. I wished for more intense gameplay - tho I did like these back stories and for sure this last ego perspective was placed quite perfectly - they were in a rush. A movie as a filler or special episode is fine, this was a matchup that has been foreshadowed since season 1, but you can’t just end every anime in movies nowadays. It sucked at AoT, it’s gonna suck at Demon Slayer. And tbh I’m not sure about all the emotional stuff coming up.. imagine putting that into a 1:20h movie lmao
